Light blue marbled paper over boards with gilt spine lettering, pictorial dust jacket. xxiii, 253pp. Illustrations. Near fine/very good. Mild jacket edgewear, with spine faintly sunned. Fourth printing of this volume in "The Western Frontier Library," tight and quite nice. First published in an English periodical in 1878 and in book form in London and New York in 1879, this noted chronicle follows this British lady as she travels the American West in 1873, journeying alone through Rocky Mountain trails and climbing Colorado's Longs Peak, capturing the wild beauty of her surroundings in letters written home to her sister.
