The dust jacket has some minor soiling to the rear panel & there is a tiny pinhole to the front panel. xiv, [ii] & 182 pages with Gershwin's lyrics printed in red. Illustrated with a black-and-white frontispiece. The pastedowns & endpapers are darkened as is typical for this book, else a very attractive, near fine copy. <p>First edition.<p>"Lady in the Dark" was first performed at the Alvin Theatre, New York City on January 23rd, 1941, with Gertrude Lawrence, Danny Kaye and Victor Mature in the cast.
