Hinges started, first 3 pp partially torn from gutters. Spine has raised cord binding showing 4 horizontal ridges. Worn gilt lettering to spine of 3/4 leather binding. Still solidly bound for a 157 year old book. Book measures 9.5 x 6.25 x 2". A fascinating read! 764 total pp. (384/380) 2 pp index begins after title page. This book is a compilation of 2 volumes, Vol. 3, 1854, and Vol. 4, 1855.
