About This Item

Berkeley, Calif: Curtis Faville, 1972. Tall 8vo, pp. 28; original printed gray wrappers; near fine. From the library of Kim Merker. Curtis Faville's L Magazine ran to five issues in three installments, one annually from 1972 to 1974. The format for each installment was unique, from oblong to square trim, textured to glossy cover stock, letterpress to offset. Following the cessation of the magazine, Faville's related imprint L Publications (Kensington, California) produced books by Bill Berkson, Faville, Ted Greenwald, and Robert Grenier between 1975 and 1978. In this inaugural issue the contributors included Dave Morice (who has signed the inside back cover), Philip Whalen, James Schuyler, Denis Johnson, Donald Justice, among others.
