Brown cloth covered boards with gilt design on front and gilt titles on spine. ; A tight solid book, hinges intact. Text in German. Only date seen is 1952 but pencilled notation of a price and 54 on back pastedown. ; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 236 pages; The first edition appeared of this appeared under the title 'Der Funfte Reiter' or 'The Fifth Rider'. Laars describes in this book the events of a winter night on the eastern front. The icy Russian winter and the fierce defense battles on the Mius in the southern section of the eastern front form the outer framework of this martial romance. .
