Pages are heavily tanned and foxed with visible markings throughout. Binding remains firm. Minor loss to half title page. Boards have heavy edge-wear with bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and rub wear all over. Slight crushing and fraying to spine ends and corners. Minor splits to spine. Gilt lettering is darkened. Moderate sunning to spine and edges. Visible wear marks to boards.

Medium cracking to gutters and hinges with exposed netting, pages remain attached. Pages have light tanning and foxing throughout. Heavier to first and last few pages. Stains and markings to some pages. Previous owner's inscriptions and sticker to front free endpaper and pastedown. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Light tanning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Staining to rear board.

Small red decorated cloth covered boards with silver lettering and emblem on front. Moderate wear to boards with some rubbing, light fraying and light staining. Binding cracked in a few spots and end papers split along seams between paste-downs and front and rear free endpapers, but binding is still intact. Pages lightly browned with age but otherwise unmarked with occasional light spotting. NOT Ex-Library. Nice b&w frontis-piece illustration. A good reading copy
