G. KEENE, C.E.I, M.A. (OXON.) The Kisses (Les Baisers) Preceded by the Month of May....Illustrated with the original copper plate engravings after the designs of C. Eisen and C.P. Marillier. 4to., bds. & cl. spine, London ND. (c.1886). Limited to 1500 copies. With engraved title page, engraved frontispiece plate, and the many smaller copper plate engravings. In good condition. Bookplate and two book descriptions also pasted in. Front and back endpapers are cracked along gutter with no paper loss and no loosening of the binding. Etching so sho ghosting on the facing pages as there are no tissue covers throughout. Claude Joseph Dorat (31 December 1734 ? 29 April 1780) was a French writer, also known as Le Chevalier Dorat. Illustrated throughout with with engravings by C. Eisen and C. P. Marillier. In a cloth binding with paper covered boards. Externally sound, though with some wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright, though with some scattered spotting throughout. Oversized or heavy volume, additional shipping charges will apply.
