Blue cloth backed with white cloth, red decoration and lettering to front cover. Thornton 7310; Dornbusch III, 2395; not in Nevins. Factual account of the tile campaign in the early days of the Civil War. One of the few eyewitness accounts of the battles and operations in eastern North Carolina. A collection of letters from a correspondent of the New York Herald, edited by Howe. List of participating regiments, and a supplemental index of units and major officers, showing where they are mentioned in the correspondent's letters.
