Hardcover. 4to. 27.5cm, first American edition, 188p., frontis portrait (King Albert) and 15 colour plates primarily tipped in, 9 black & white plates, 11 musical pianoforte scores, index of contributors, original light blue cloth, blind stamped border decorations, white stamped titles on the spine and upper cover, a very good to fine sound clean copy (Il). ~ Contributors, with facsimile signatures, include Prime Minister Asquith, Baden Powell, Canadian Prime Minister Robert Borden, Winston Churchill, Thomas Hardy, Rudyard Kipling, Saint Saens, Chesterton, Fridjof Nansen, and many more. Artists represented include Arthur Rackham, Edmund Dulac, Kay Neilsen, Joseph Pennell, Walter Crane and numerous others. Music compositions by Edward Elgar, Debussy, Edward German, Villiers Stanford.
