About This Item

New York: Continental Books, Inc, 1932. Hardcover. Very good copy; wrappers are a bit worn rubbed around the edges especially the spine joints; there's a small closed tear along the top edge of the back cover; back cover is moderately soiled from handling and age; while the outsides of this book are well-loved they are very much in one piece and attractive; the pages are in excellent shape: clean and crisp and free of marks and creases; edges of pages are clean; binding is tight and square.. Duodecimo in brown and tan wrappers with illustration of Japanese woman in a kimono on the cover; 224 pages; 19 cm. In English; "Just how shocked was London when it found out that a very distinguished if impoverished aristocrat was allowing his son to marry a Japanese girl? True she had been brought up in France and England since she was two years old; true she spoke every language but that of her native tongue fluently; true she was worth millions of dollars; however she was Oriental. Just what happened, when, in spite of repeated warnings not to go to Japan on their wedding trip, they did go? Were they destined to lose each other because of circumstances over which they had no control? KIMONO is a revelation even to the most jaded of tastes. It has more than its share of thrills and climactic suprises. It is superbly written and authentic... You will never forget Kimono..."- back cover.
