New York: MacMillan. NF/F. 1967. 1st Edition. Hardcover; 1st Printing. 1st edition/1st printing with First Printing stated on the copyright page. Lovely example of this author's scarce 1st book, NOT ex-library or remaindered. SIGNED by the author on a laid-in glossy finish heavy stock half-sheet with Sue Grafton boldly signed on the bottom half, and a recent photograph of Ms. Grafton on the upper half. The book is straight, clean, tight, and has unblemished upper page edge stain. The book is graded near fine plus instead of fine only because there are a couple of small indentations on the back panel - there's no color loss or wear to the fabric of the binding. It is just as if an object with small feet rested on the back panel and caused those very slight indentations. The fine price intact dustjacket is clean, crisp, unfaded and has no tears or chips. Precedes the Kinsey Millhone alphabet series by 15 years. Many readers think this her best book.; Signed by Author .

Beautifully signed LBJ bookplate: To Eunice Graham With appreciation for her Competent service during a trying period. Lyndon B Johnson (Note the "C" in Competent is clearly capitalized by LBJ). Book in fine condition with dust jacket in very good condition. Dust jacket on front page fine condition with very minor wrinkles (see picture). Tiny chips at top of jacket on binding and small tear and wrinkle on rear cover not impacting picture of LBJ (see picture). Clean text. Unclipped ($15.00). Protected by Brodart book jacket cover.LBJ noted about this book, "I make no pretense of having written a complete and definitive history of my Presidency. I have tried, rather, to review that period from a President's personal and political philosophy, a President's experience and knowledge, a President's aspirations, and a President's response to the demands that were made on him." I have not written these chapters to say' This is how it was," but to say, "This is how I saw it from my vantage point."

Description:
Paris: Julliard, 1960. First Edition. Softcover. Very Good Condition. An advance copy (with s.p. on the rear cover) of the limited edition (though not on Marais paper) with plain covers and an interview and portrait of Wright. Lacking a glassine wrapper, but likely to have never had one. Light wear and age toning, inscribed by Wright to Françoise Sagan and additionally signed by the translator Helen Bokanowski. Slight browning to covers, but an attractive copy and a terrific association of two giants of 20th century literature. With an announcement for the book, a bit worn, laid in. Wright lived in Paris from 1946 until his death in late 1960 - he became in French citizen in 1947. Published as The Long Dream in 1958, it is often viewed as the final book in the Native Son, Black Boy sequence. It traces the life of Fishbelly, the son of a Mississippi mortician in the Jim Crow South. Size: Octavo (8vo). Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo. Description:
MacMillan Company. Very Good in Very Good+ dust jacket. 1967. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. Red cloth. States "First Printing". Signed on the title page, without inscription, by Grafton. To the front and rear pastedowns it is stamped, "Property of Display Dept." . Some rubbing along the upper page edge. There are three places in the book where there is what appears to be ink spray to one page and also to the page opposite. It is light in color and I did not notice it at first. I am quite certain this is a printers error. This is likely the reason it was removed to the Display Dept. It is otherwise quite a nice copy. Without any other names or bookplates. The dust jacket is nearly fine and has only very minor wear. Price of $4.95 to the front flap. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 220 pages .
