Hammersmith: Kelmscott Press, 1896. Very Good + in Wraps. One of 1500 copies. A four leaf advertising circular from the Kelmscott Press listing books in the press, books already printed of which a few copies remain for sale, books out of print, and books in preparation. Although there is a list of books in preparation, Chaucer's Works was appended to the list of books out of print with "to be ready this month" in parentheses, Sadly, the books in preparation, Froissart's Chronycles, the poems of Theodore Watts-Dunton, and a catalogue of Morris's library were eventually aborted as the press only finished books actually in progress after Morris's death in October 1896. Printed in red and black in Golden type on Flower paper, with the Kelmscott printer's mark on the front cover. Slight creasing but otherwise in very good condition. Measures 6 x 8 inches. First edition, and a fine copy of this excellent study of the operation and history of the Kelmscott Press. The author was the son-in-law of William Morris between 1890 and 1898. He had married May Morris, but their marriage ended over her involvement with George Bernard Shaw.

Paradine Publications. London. 1975. LIMITED EDITION. 8vo. (8.4 x 5.6 inches). This is copy number 78 of only 100 copies for sale (there were another 10 copies for presentation) initialled by the printer, Ridley Burnett. A fine bright copy which is a beautifully produced facsimile of the famous Kelmscott Press edition of 1893. Finely hound bound in full white limp vellum, lettered in gilt. Green silk ties which were specially woven for this edition by H. Caldicott of London. With a short booklet about the 1893 edition, again limited, numbered and this initialled by Harold Smith and Ridley Burnett. Grey paper wraps with silk tie to the hinge. The two volumes are Housed in the publishers original grey paper covered slip case. A beautiful facsimile of a beautiful edition of Shakespeare's Poems in fine condition.
