Battle Creek, Mich: W.K. Kellogg, 1909. Paperback. Very Good +. [10] card p.: color illustrations; 21 cm. Wrappers included in page count. Wrapper title. Patented 1907; copyright 1909. "580" -- on back wrapper. Advertisement on back wrapper includes 4-line verse about Corn Flakes with an illustration of children dancing around an over-size box of the cereal and an illustration of a boy with a box of cereal in a cart being pulled by a giant rooster. Two interior leaves are split into 6 horizontal sections what allow the reader to change the illustrations on the 3 other pages of the animals. With short nursery rhymes, some of which mention Kellogg's Corn Flakes. A moveable children's book published by Kellogg to promote the cereal Corn Flakes. Initially issued in 1907 as an in-store promotion; in 1909 it was changed to a premium mail-in offer, which Kellogg continued with changes in illustration until 1937. Later editions feature an advertisement on the back wrapper with the old woman who lived in a shoe. In Very Good+ Condition: faint dampstain on first leaf; wrapper slightly rubbed; upper 2 strips of first divided leaf slightly creased; clean and bright.
