Pictorial cloth, slighly rubbed; hand-colored frontispiece, lacking tissue guard; vignette illustrations to text; a few specks of light foxing. Excellent historical survey of Kasperl plays and the hand puppet theater, particularly in central Europe. It also contains a number of Kasperl sketches or dialogues from various countries. It concludes with glossary and some bibliographical references. The front depicts Kasperl beating the devil.
