About This Item
1887. 1st Edition . Soft cover. Very Good. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. (no place / no publisher): 1887, Kando Koron. Subtly patterned wraps, 26 pp., woodblock printed on soft, fibrous, flexible paper, likely a form rice paper. In Japanese throughout, of course. Very Good; one stain and bit of sporadic soil on cover (see scans), covers have stood the test of time quite sturdily. Contents are Fine. Contains Zen Buddhist teachings; "Kando" roughly translates as a feeling or sensation of profound excitement and gratification derived from experiencing supreme quality and performance. "Koron" may be a proper name in this context. Vintage, quaint and a bit mystical in aspect. L30n
