Only slight wear ; Bright red cloth covered boards with gilt and black titles and decoration front and spine. ; 6.5 X 1.75 X 9.75 inches; 559 pages; These writings are taken from articles written by Stephen Desha in Hawaiian for the newspaper Ka Hoku o Hawaii between Dec 16, 1920 and Sept 11, 1924, totalling 174 articles. He drew from previous writings, from oral histories and even from accounts by explorers Captains Cook, King, Vancouver, etc. They have been translated for this scholarly book by Frances Frazier. Included are footnotes, appendix, glossary and index. .
