Amandus-Edition, 1946. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. Folio - over 12" - 15" tall. Slight fraying at foot of spine; slight rubbing and browning to covers (cloth over boards; chiefly to edges); slight internal browning to edges (unaffecting images). 10 pages + plates. Text in German. Illustrations inspired by the works of Kafka (including 2 from 'The Castle' and 3 from 'The Trial'), with 2 portrait studies of Kafka (one titled 'Franz Kafka in Prag'). Foreword by Otto Mauer; also includes Kafka's short 'parable' titled 'Vor dem Gesetz'. Laid loose as issued in folding portfolio (dark gray cloth over cream boards, upper cover stamped gilt). Well-preserved lithographic set.10 Lithographs / Plates; 1 b/w Woodcut Illustration (title Page portrait).
