First printing of the USA paperback version of the book (originally published in hard cover with DJ). SIGNED on the title page by Jim Curran. Near fine condition except light crease upper outside corner of front cover, tight bidning, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages. Book measures 208mm tall x 138mm, and has 217 pages, 25 colour & 17 b/w photos, 2 maps, index. The climbs & disaster of the 1986 expeditions to K2 (13 people died, 27 people reached summit). Author was in basecamp all summer after an attempt on NW Ridge.
