About This Item
Philadelphia PA: Sherman & Company. Good. 1883. Hardcover. A clean and tight copy of this self-published novel by a gentleman situated in Shoemakersville, north of Reading. (Sherman was a printer, not a publisher. ) It is set in the fictional riverside town of Arrandale, so if you can figure out what town Arrandale was modelled after, you might find some enjoyable local history here. (The Schuykill River is the probable river in question, and Shoemakersville fits the bill. ) There is a name in pencil at the front, and no other signs of use. The book is tight and clean, although aged in appearance. (The author's name may be a pseudonym. ); 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
