About This Item

The late Dovey Johnson Roundtree (4-17-1914 to 5-21-2018) led a remarkable life of civil rights activism for Black and Female Americans. Graduate of the Howard University School of Law, she became one of the first officers in The Womens Army Corps, won a desegregation case regarding transportation and interstate commerce in 1955, She was among the first of the women to be ordained a minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Those are just the highlights. The book has a slight bump on the top and bottom of the spine. Near fine condition. The author has inscribed, dated and signed on the title page.
