Harcourt, Brace and Co: New York, 1942. First Edition stated. Very Good Book in Fair to Good- DJ. DJ has closed tears at top of spine, at bottom, and small tears / edge wear at extremities. Bumped upper corner. Small rubbed area DJ front. There is no price listed on the DJ. Po book plate on FFEP with area for name cut out (not affecting page beneath). Otherwise No internal markings. Book is tight and square. Cozzens was the recipient of the 1949 Pulitzer Prize for Guard of Honor and nominee for the 1957 Pulitzer Prize for By Love Possessed. He ran afoul of critics of the old guard in American writing.
