The first edition of this work. This book follows Verne from his childhood and early struggles to his extraordinary success as one of the world's most widely-read authors. This book is illustrated and contains a useful bibliography. In a green cloth binding with gilt lettering on the spine in an unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, excellent minor shelfwear to the boards. There is an ink inscription to recto of front free-end paper. Dustwrapper is very smart with some minor edgewear and handling marks only. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Near Fine

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
