About This Item
This is an anthology partly made up of Anthony Berkeley's work for Punch magazine in the 1920s. The chapters are made up to be various lessons in a short story writing course i.e. Lesson 1 - The Short Story Analyzed, Lesson 2 - The Simple Love Story. The collection also contains pieces on writing essays, topical articles and on how to sell your work to editors.
It goes without saying that all of these pieces are works of satire and include parodied versions of the story the writer is trying to "teach".
The collection also includes 32 illustrations by George Morrow.280 pages, Hardcover
Published January 1, 1925, 2nd Printing
Anthony Berkeley Cox wrote numerous and particularly highly regarded works of detective fiction under two pen names: as Anthony Berkeley, he took the British Golden Age detective novel to fresh heights, while as Francis Iles, he was a pioneer of psychological suspense fiction with a seasoning of cynical wit. The pieces gathered together here are examples of his journalistic side. Largely they are concerned with the writing of mystery and detective fiction.
This book, a Second Printing, is exceedingly rare to find. It is priced accordingly.

About Price Target Media
I have been collecting and selling books for over 25 years. I both buy and sell. Books that I sell are priced according to their condition and scarcity. I try my best to present books in their true condition and rate them accordingly. That and my wife says I have to do something with all those crates and crates of books that are taking over our garage!
