About This Item

Leipzig: Alfred Hahn, 1909. Second edition. Second edition. Original cloth backed color pictorial paper covered boards, color illustrated endpapers. 43pp with color illustrations every page, many whole page by Gertrude and Walther Caspari, important illustrators of the Jugendstil movement. Second printing issued just one year following the first edition. "Caspari's scale, strong contouring and striking perspective and finesse of presentation aims at both the smallest child to read and then take up and read again for years to come..." (Doderer). A superb copy, near fine.
