Throughout the book there are black and white illustrations. Black coloured book with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. A book on the art of judo, its throws and its counter strikes. Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges with rubbing of the book corners. The panels show rubs, marks and stains. Tanning and foxing of the text block edges with age toning and a few foxing spots to the pages. The free front end page has been removed. Gift inscription – to the Police Gymnasium, Russell Street, dated 2/2/62. Original bookseller's sticker to the lower right-hand corner of the front paste-down. Inserted loosely into the book is a newspaper clipping about the imminent arrival of the Japanese martial art expert. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [4], V - X, 11 - 111, [5] pages,.
