First Edition, c. 1871, same date on title page & no note of further printings Owner name inside front cover. Dark green cloth binding is square w/ light rubbing & edge wear; 1/8 fray/ chip to top & bottom of spine. Gold decoration & lettering on cover & spine bright & intact. Endpapers clean. Text is tight, clean, unmarked w/ some toning- mostly in margins. NO hinge splits, dogeared pages, etc.; NOT ex library. Handsome, well preserved copy.
