Protected by a custom-made acetate wrap. BOOKS SHIP THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY, WRAPPED IN PADDING, IN A BOX. Facsimile journal pages with a dense combination of photographs, writing, and ephemera, akin to Peter Beard's journals. Dan Eldon was many things during his short 22-year life: graphic designer, film-maker, relief worker, charity-founder, author, and photojournalist. In Somalia, in 1993, he was stoned to death in an eruption of mob violence while on assignment for Reuters. After his death, his mother compiled this book drawing from the 17 volumes he left behind. Photographs and collage by Dan Eldon; edited and with an introduction by Kathy Eldon. Unpaginated [224 pages] with one die-cut gatefold; full-bleed color plates throughout; 8 x 10.75 inches. Bound-in is a glassine envelope with a number of postcards inside and another bound-in postcard elsewhere, as issued. LAID-IN is a short illustrated article about Eldon and the book.
