One and Two are second printings with addenda and corrigenda, the rest are 1st eds. 4 Vols. in five plus folio atlas. Frontises., illus., portraits, maps, plates, folding maps. Orig. pictorial cloth, non-priceclipped d/js. Fine. Hill 367. The best textual edition of Cook's journals of his three voyages with much supplementary material edited by J. C. Beaglehole. The atlas has 88 reproductions of original charts and views drawn by Cook and his officers on the three voyages. Also includes the journals of the surgeons William Anderson and David Samwell, both printed for the first time, as well as those of Captains Clerke and King for the duration of the voyage after Cook's death.
