Very good plus. Senate Journal, 13th Congress, 3rd Session, 1814. First edition (not a reprint). A primary feature of interest in these Journals is the Presidential Message given to Congress at the start of each Session. Madison's message is devoted entirely to news of the war with Great Britain (War of 1812). Also on page six Madison discusses Congressional relocation after destruction of the Capitol. (Kind of puts things in perspective.) Condition: No boards. Book has blue paper wraps. Text block is sewn and sound and complete including 2 leaves of blank endpapers both front and back. Book is in excellent condition considering lack of boards. My opinion is that book was never bound and looks much as it did straight from the printer. Blue paper wraps are more recent. No interior markings, tears or blemishes. Usual toning consistent with age. I also located a brief discussion regarding the purchase of Thomas Jefferson's library in order to begin rebuilding the Library of Congress which had just been burnt to the ground. Pretty good stuff. The only marking I can find is an old pencil note on the front blank of volume 3. Includes bound in errata slips and a promotional leaf for the series laid in. The boards have some dings to the corners. Volume 3 has the most condition issues: shows the most outer wear with some stains on the edges and wear on spine and boards (see scans).
