About This Item
1973. KANFER, Stefan. A JOURNAL OF THE PLAGUE YEARS. NY: Atheneum, 1975. 8vo., cloth in dust jacket. First Edition. Nice signed presentation by Kanfer on the front endpaper to a fellow author: "For Henry Grunwald, my history professor with gratitude and affection, Stefan Kanfer." The author contends that the era of the blacklist- led by Senator Joe McCarthy in the 1950s- actually had its seedy, obscure origins in the thirties and forties, in the F. Scott Fitzgerald days of Hollywood. Very Good (some fading to edges); moderate wear & few short tears d/j. $35.00.
