[5], vi-xi, [4], 2-381, [5] pp. Three-quarter morocco over marbled boards ruled in gilt with the spine in six compartments, gilt decorations and lettering on the spine; top edge gilt. Marbled endpapers and pastedowns. With a red ribbon bookmark. Illustrated with a color frontispiece portrait of Louis XV and with six additional plates. Introduction by C.-A. Sainte-Beuve. Translated by Katharine Prescott Wormeley. Number 532 out of 1250 limited sets of the Tour de France edition. Please note, this is volume two only of the two-volume set of the Marquis' memoirs. A chip to the top edge and rubbing to the corners, a bookplate and an inscription on the front preliminaries.
