Philadelphia [Pa.] Published by the Franklin Institute, at their Hall, 1842. The usual patent news, meteorological reports, steam & railroad developments. This volume includes a translation of J.-B (Jean-Baptiste) Dumas (1800-1884), "The Chemical Statics of Organized Beings," of which the first separate printed translation was not until Manchester [s.n.], 1854. Also "A Description of the Wooden Aqueduct Carrying the Pennsylvania Canal Across the River Alleghany [sic] at Pittsburg" and the Albany Aqueducts. "Cost of Transportation on Railroads", Railways in Massachusetts, and articles on improvements for steam engines. Hard Cover. 1 leaf, 430 pages, illus., folding plate; 22.5 cm.
