Illustration of Juan Marinello to frontispiece. Illustration of Jose Marti on front cover. Black and white photographs and illustrations. Clean, still solid. 331 pp with index. Title translation : Jose Marti, Writer and American Modernism. Jose Marti (1853 -- 1895) is a Cuban national hero and an important figure in Latin American literature. He was a poet, essayist, journalist, revolutionary philosopher, translator, professor, publisher, and a political theorist.
