First Printing, with publisher's "C-P" code on copyright page. Octavo; olive green cloth, with titling and decorations stamped in gilt and dark blue on spine and front cover; dustjacket; [14], 340, [2]pp; frontispiece and 13 illustrations. Oxidation to spine gilt, with cloth at spine gently darkened and two pin-sized nicks right board edges; Near Fine. In the first printing dustjacket (not the color reprint) priced $1.25 at spine and listing 140 Harper's titles on verso; spine lightly sunned, edgeworn, with small chips and tears and several splits to folds (though still integral); a substantially complete example, Good and unrepaired.
