Founder of Canterbury, setting up the Canterbury Association in 1848 to found a colony in New Zealand, arriving in Lyttelton in 1850 and leading the devekopment of Christchurch. CONDITION Blue bds with crisp Navy title (clean and unworn, name iside front obscured by DJ flap) pp xv [3] 251 with nine historic illus plates including an early map of Christchurch, contains a Godley lineage chart. DJ has toned spine and small tear top front o/w unworn.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
