London: John Murray, 1932. John Murray III - his authors and literary circle, including Byron, Melville, Auten, Darwin and others. He was a magistrate for Surrey, a fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London, and known as a member of the Athenæum Club. CONDITION Blue cloth with Cream paste on spine title, Blue stained top edge, pp xv 320 with half tone photo plates printed on nice linene paper with untrimmed edges. Light finger mark to two pages o/w bright crisp and unworn copy. DJ has faded spine and top edge a couple of tiny tears, archival reinforcing tape inside. Contemporary newspaper review laid in. Overweight. First Edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
