Russet cloth covered boards with gilt titles to spine and upper board, and gilt Early English Text Society crest to upper board. Very minor bruising to spine tips; 1 cm tear to each fold-out plate affecting margin only. Near Fine copy. Early English Text Society No. 285. Substantial contribution to the historical literature of Medieval English and spans the time period from Adam and Eve to 1417. Includes extensive introduction, commentary and glossary.
