About This Item

New York, NY: Dell Publishing Co. 1971. Mass Market Paperback. Near Fine. First Edition. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. What's so special about the Jews? Jews and non-Jews alike will want to read the extremely provocative answers in - The Jewish Mystique. Dr. van den Haag investigates the mystique about Jews created by their friends, their enemies, and, not least, the Jews themselves. Brilliant and controversial: are Jews smarter than other people: do Jews make better doctors and lawyers?; Jewish radicals; Jews and sex; why Anti-Semitism?; Jews and the Promised Land; The Jewish cultural establishment; is there a Jewish character?; Two kinds of discrimination: Jews and Negroes; The pecking order among American Jews; The vanishing Jews; Who are the Jews and what were they chosen for? and more.204 pages. Some light rubbing on top & bottom of spine and some places on outside edges. Spine is creased. You can see the light indentations of someone writing on a paper on top of the book. The book is nice and tight..

Reviews

On May 27 2009, Stureder said:
I have been Jewish for 60 years. Never have I read a work which has so enlightened me to the origins of Judaism and the amazing differences between this religion and the others which existed prior to and after the establishment of our faith. The author, a self admitted Gentile, has achieved insights into the success of Judaism and the causes for Jew hatetred among the Gentiles of the world.

This simple book, recommended by the extraordinary writer, teacher, philosofer and wit, Mr. Dennis Prager, is a MUST READ, for inquisative and open minded folks, regardless of race, creed, political or sexual orientation!!!!!!

I recommend this book to all.
