The Jesuits and the Sino-Russian Treaty of Nerchinsk (1689) - The Diary of Thomas Pereira, S.J. by Sebes, Joseph, S.J - 1961

Rome: Insitutum Historicum S.I., 1961. Paperback. xxxvi, 341p., illustrated with two nicely-printed folding maps bound at terminus of the original Portuguese text (full Englishing preceeds Pereira's Portuguese). An ex library copy with bold spine numeral, library bookplate (upon which find deaccession stamp), and rear pocket. Front cover has two corner-creasings tiny and large, and a mild but pervasive text-block bump at the large-crease area. The item was obviously never much handled and certainly not checked out: very good condition for an ex lib. Bibliotheca instituti historici S.I. volumen XVIII. The dissolution of Lone Mountain library was a notable event, nourishing book dealers and collectors widely. Custodians of the library were respectful of their charges, with neat applications of accession marks (and of deaccessions).
