From the edition limited to 558 on Arches, with this lettered copy one of 26 reserved for the Trustees of the William Blake trust and the Publishers. This facsimile is not to be confused with the first Trianon publication in 1950, the facsimile of the Stirling copy of 'Jerusalem', the only known complete hand-coloured copy. In Lord Cunliffe's copy presented here, a copy that precedes the Stirling copy, only the first twenty-five plates (i.e. the first chapter of the book) were hand-coloured and in a different colour scheme. Four proofs from the collection of Kerrison Preston are also included. The facsimiles of the illuminated leaves have been reproduced by collotype and pochoir (a hand-stencilled process) and printed on Arches pure rag paper to match the paper used by Blake, each page being watermarked with his monogram. In addition to the facsimile of the published book, eight trial proofs are reproduced.
