About This Item

New York: Dutton, 1960. Hardcover. Very Good/near fine. Hardcover. 113 pp. Illustrations by Robert MacLean. Stated first edition but with the Chidren's Book Club imprint on the new half-title and on the copyright page. Very good, some disoloration to the yellow paper covered boards. In the price-intact color illustratd dust jacket, near fine with a tiny closed taer top edge front panel and a very small stain in the same area. A Janesville Beach boy whose father had been lost at sea gets some new neighbors--a mad household with a rather strange boy Jeptha's age, Indian servants, and a chained cheetah among other things.
