About This Item
New York: A. L. Burt Company, 1930 circa. Second Popular Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. 12mo, 288 pages, brigh, dark green cloth, waterspot at bottom of top cover. inked Christmas gift presentation in 1934; short tears to dj, with two "pinhole" punctures; in a mylar dj protector. Note: the dj is an eighth-inch too short for the binding.
The First American edition was by Doran in 1923. It was re-publshed by Burt in 1925, and reprinted - reflecting the on-going increase in interest in Wodehouse - by Burt in 1929 and thereafter. The rear panel lists new titles for Burt, which all appear to have originally been published in 1929. The inside of the dj is covered with other book titles in the house of Burt. [McIlvaine A30 (x)]

About Thomas J. Joyce And Company
Joyce And Company has been in business as a professional rare bookseller and appraiser since 1975. Owner Thomas Joyce was the regular book appraiser on Home & Garden TV\'s \"The Appraisal Fair\\\" program, on international broadcasts. Thomas Joyce was the co-discoverer of George Washington's personal copy of William Leybourn's 1679 edition of THE COMPLEAT SURVEYOR, from which young Washington learned some of his surveying skills at age 16. The book had vanished for nearly a century until its re-discovery in 2017. It is now back at Mt. Vernon.
