As New/fine. 124pp, dark blue cloth with black stamped lettering on cover and spine, dark blue endpapers. 9" x 12", DJ protected with Brodart cover. This is from the second edition of 4000 and has black lettering rather than gold lettering on cover. As new in fine dj. Printed in Japan. Introduction by Leonard Feather and commentary by Terry Southern.
One of the most beautiful examples of jazz photography in book form. Claxton was an insider and much-loved by jazz musicians; Shorty Rogers composed "Clickin' With Clax" in his honor The photograph of Charlie Parker surrounded by fans in a studio portrait is absolutely stunning. The photographs in the book were all taken between 1953 and 1963.
