Details on the photos, their subjects, & the New Orleans jazz scene are provided in an Afterword, "Mecca, LA" by Whitney Balliett. , "America's foremost writer on jazz." Orig. published in Britain in 1992, this is the FIRST AMERICAN EDITION, First Printing, from that same year. Oblong hardcover has vivid red cloth-coverd boards with embossed lettering to front/gilt to spine. Condition is truly Fine: only flaw is green remainder mark on bottom outside page edges. Otherwise, completely clean, binding straight & strong, pages white. The DJ is downgraded to VG+ due to a small chip at heel of spine & very minor other edgewear; nicely protected in new mylar cover Free!Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have!
