A clean, unmarked and firmly bound copy...complete with all 257 plates, including 55 exquisitely printed color tip-ins. One color plate is a fold-out. (Five of the black & white plates are fold-outs.) The front free endpaper has been excised, pasted endpapers wavy along edges, outside page edges slightly toned - otherwise an internally fresh and fine copy. Plates in excellent condition. Bound in a very good hardcover of tan silk with a panel of salmon-colored paper decoratively blind embossed on the front cover; spine titled in gilt and black stamping. Cover edges lightly rubbed, one small spot to the paper panel. Binding and hinges firm and straight. Dust jacket is clean, lightly shelf-rubbed, chips and creasing along top edge. Front flap has been price-clipped. Jacket is in a clear archival protector. The cardboard slipcase has printed paper panel on one board, the spine titled in black. Slipcase is quite worn, one edge of the spine has broken loose. 9 x 12-1/2". 287 pages. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good+/Good+.
