London: G. Bell & Sons, Ltd.. Very Good in Fair dust jacket. 1913. Hardcover. vii, 196 p. 18 cm. Sound and square binding, in red, cloth-covered boards. Upper board and spine titles and illustrations in stamped white. Top edge gilt. Corners bumped. Darkening to tail of spine and bottom front corner, where jacket piece is missing. Some fading to the edges. White colouring of titles on spine has rubbed off, spine illustration less so. Offset discoloration to front endpapers. Small bookseller's stamp on front free endpaper. Inside pages and plates generally bright and clean, with a bit of fingering and two pages with shadow mark from ribbon marker (ribbon removed). Dustwrapper has large pieces gone from spine annd two corners. A few other small chips and holes. Some edge and fold tears. Front panel darkened with a sticker pull. Three stories included: Jackanapes, Daddy Darwin's Dovecot, and The Story of a Short Life. Illustrated with 8 full colour plates by H. M. Brock. Decorated endpapers and title page. The Queen's Treasure Series .
