Harrap,, [1941]. 8vo., Uncorrected Proof Copy of First UK Edition, original brown wrappers printed in black, wrappers lightly dust-soiled else a very good, firm copy. Simone's famous diatribe against those he deemed responsible for the Fall of the Fourth Republic in 1940 takes its title from the Zola scandal of the late 1890s. This copy has a neat signature on front wrapper, annotations in blue crayon on half-title recto and verso, and a caricature on title. Proof copies are very scarce. Enser p.170.
