About This Item
Stamford, CT: Mosaic Images:, 2001. Delightful image of Silver at the keyboard during the sessions for Detroit sax-player Monterose's sadly underrated self-titled debut for Blue Note. Cofounder and house photographer Francis Wolff's extensive archive of images, the majority previously unseen, had remained in storage for many years before Blue Note revivalists Mosaic began to use them for their reissue series. For a brief period they produced limited edition fine art prints of a selection, this being image #38, number 3 of 150. High quality silver gelatin print (253 x 203 mm), "Photograph by Francis Wolff" and "Mosaic Images" wet-stamps verso with pencilled session details, inventory number and limitation. Near fine. "Thousands of Unseen Blue Note Photos Online Now", Jazz Times, 15 August 2019.
