London: Chatto and Windus, 1929. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. Signed by Stars. First Edition. 12mo. (viii) 85 pp. Brown cloth with a pasted-on title on the spine. Lightly rubbed on the corners; no dustjacket. Before he created Winnie the Pooh, Milne was a famous playwright. This one has been stamped inside: Property of Ottawa Drama League, Inc. It includes a program from the Ottawa, Ontario production, January 22nd and 23rd, 1930, and states: Under the distinguished patronage and in the immediate presence of Their Excellencies the Governor General (Freeman Freeman-Thomas, 1st Marquess of Willingdon), and the Viscountess Willingdon (formerly Hon. Marie Brassey). And the book has been autographed in the back by nearly everyone who was involved in the production, which starred David Cromarty and Peggy Amy (both signatures present), along with Tom Palmer, Gordon White, Elizabeth Young, Betty Campbell, Walter Moore (not signed), Ethel Dowd (not signed), Irene Borysink, Maxwell Cleary (not signed), Charlotte Bowman, Richard Munro, Bryce Gillis, Weldy Graham, J. Peters, Robert Dunn, Arthur Pettapiece, Dorothy Lawson and a host of others, along with a host of other signatures, including the producer, F. Maud Brown (aka Mrs. Eric Brown)..
