New York: J.J. Augustin, 1948. Hardcover. Very Good/Good+. 228 pp + [20] (plates), with frontispiece of Easter Island statue tipped in, bibliography, notes, index. Offsetting to endpapers from dust jacket, boards and spine are slightly sunned. Dust jacket has edgewear and chipping. In this study Wolff "demonstrates a striking resemblance between hieroglyphics of Easter Island and those of Egypt in form as well as in meaning. He presents a working hypothesis to detect the meaning of the stone statues and to explain their mode of transportation" (dust jacket).
